by VITROCELL SYSTEMS is specially designed for the biologicaland chemical analysis of cigarettes.
It is worldwide at work in numerous research institutes and smoke laboratories mixtures.

 

Both the requirements of ISO 3308 as well as Health Canada Intense Smoking Conditions are met due to a new interchange module which can be installed in less than 15 minutes. For the ISO test a 50 ml cylinder can be used for the suction of 35 ml, whereas for Health Canada requirements a 100 ml cylinder is used to achieve the volume of 55 ml per puff. So there is a choice of the optimal cylinder size for each puff volume.

 

Ideal tool for research

The smoking robot VC 10^® is used for product analysis or when a standard aerosol is required for an in vitro test with cell cultures. For this purpose human cells are cultivated on membrane inserts in special VITROCELL^® cultivation and exposure modules. Then the cells are exposed at the air liquid interface to the test substances. For the direct exposure to bacteria (Ames Test), a special module for Petri dishes is used.
